Dr Muhammad Buba Mamman was born into the family of late Mallam Buba Mamman and Hajiya Maryam Abubakar in Numan, a town in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State, on 1st October, 1964
He had his primary education from 1978-1980 at Kawon-Dowaya Primary School, Numan, Adamawa State, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. From 1981 to 1986 he attended Sakato Government Secondary School (now Vilanova Secondary School) Numan, in Adamawa State, where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC). Dr. Muhammad Buba Mamman bagged his B.Sc. Accounting (in 1990), MBA (in 2000), M.Sc. Accounting & Finance (in 2012) from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, and PhD in Accounting from the premier military university, Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) Kaduna, in 2021.
Dr Muhammad Buba Mamman has over 33 years of working experience, 30 years of which had been in the banking sector; most of the time at the defunct Habib Nigeria Bank Limited, FirstInland Bank Plc, and Bank PHB Plc (now Keystone Bank). While in the banking sector, he was the pioneer Head of Non-Interest Banking, in Nigeria. He was the Head of Internal Control Department at Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) until his retirement from service. Prior to his role as HOD Internal Control, he served as Chief Risk Officer/Head, Enterprise Risk Management Department and later Head, Specialized Assets Enforcement. He was before moving to AMCON, a lecturer at the Department of Accounting, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. He is currently serving on the academic Board of Africa Academy for Counter-Fraud and Ant-corruption Studies (AACAS), Lagos. He authored many articles in Local and International Journals.
