“ Prof. Abuchi Ogbuju, a Forensic Accountant, and IFRS/ IPSAS expert attended several tertiary Institutions in Nigeria and Overseas.

He has worked in several capacities in various Auditing firms since he graduated in 1983. Specifically, He rose through the rank of Audit Junior to Zonal Resident Manager (East) in Samuel Asuen & Co (Chartered Accountants), Michael Agbamu &Co (Chartered Accountants), D.E. Ogona & Co (Chartered Accountants) and Coopers & Lybrand (Audit), before founding the firm of Messrs Abuchi Ed. Ogbuju & Co in 1995.

Prof. Abuchi Ogbuju was a Senior Lecturer in the Accounting Department, at the University Of Abuja; External Examiner, Lecturer, and course writer at The Nigerian College of Accountancy, Jos (A Nigerian Post Graduate Professional College of Accountancy) A Forensic Examiner, he is a member of the Prestigious American College of Forensic Examiners Institute, Springfield, MO; member, of the Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants, CANADA; is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Texas, USA.
Prof. Abuchi Ogbuju
Prof. Abuchi Ogbuju is a Fellow the of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria and he possesses the practicing license from the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is the founder of the Society for Forensic Accounting & Fraud Prevention of Nigeria.

Prof. Abuchi Ogbuju is a member of many other professional Associations and Institutes. Prof. Abuchi Ogbuju is an Accreditation Resource person of both the Nigerian Universities Commission, NUC, and the Technical Committee on Nigerian Polytechnics. Prof. Abuchi Ogbuju has served on several Boards of Parastatals and Companies, both in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.



Prof. Abuchi Ogbuju has served ANAN in several capacities, as a committee member and secretary to several more committees, both in the Nigerian College of Accountancy, Jos, and at the Headquarters and branch levels. He has remained the Chairman of the Practising Committee. Dr, Abuchi has travelled around the globe as a resource scholar in the field of his passionate interest, which is forensics.



The SMP Firm he founded has in its employment 29 professionally qualified Accountants, 40 graduate accountants and trainees, and 11 partners with 10 specialized interest departments and divisions.

Under the platform of ANAN, Abuchi won the Prestigious Professional Excellence award (Financial Category) of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria, APBN, the apex body of all professional Associations in Nigeria, thus being the first ANAN to win the Award; thereby breaking the jinx of over 37 years. This was adjudged highly commendable by the Committee of Past Presidents of ANAN.
Abuchi was commended by the Auditor General for the Federation for new innovations and improvement in standards and quality of accounting practices hence excellence in professional practice and outstanding work presentation and evaluation.
Prof. Abuchi Ogbuju also received several other awards and commendations by many organizations and Universities for his excellent diverse performances.

Prof. Abuchi Ogbuju has presented papers and made several publications in several fora and magazines both within Nigeria and outside the Country.

Prof. Abuchi Ogbuju is a thorough breed practitioner and a strong example with impeachable character for younger generations to look to for mentoring.

Professional Chairs have been instituted in his honor in the Nigerian College of Accountancy. He set prizes for several excellent performances for the candidates of the College. He has over 40 years of practice experience.
